Amy A Hamyd

Head of Operations

private jets agent in Maldives

Amy A Hamyd (Amy) is the Head of Operations at Skytours Maldives, where she oversees the Operations Control Center, Airport Operations, Business Development and Client Relations departments. Her role blends strategy with hands-on execution, from managing daily operations to guiding client servicing, branding, and team leadership.

Amy’s career path is one that many young professionals can relate to. Right after finishing her GCE A’levels, she joined the workforce with roles at Bank of Maldives followed by HSBC; not out of passion, but to gain structure and experience. She didn’t have it all figured out then, and believes it’s perfectly okay for others starting out to feel the same. Every role teaches something, and in her case, each step brought her closer to discovering her true career path.

Her interest in marketing became clear during her time at Wataniya Telecom (now Ooredoo Maldives), where she worked as a Training Coordinator. That turning point led her into roles focused on marketing and business development, including her first stint at Skytours in 2009. Although she eventually led the Flight Operations department, her main responsibilities remained closely tied to business development, client servicing, and external communications. It was during this time that she realized her true passion lies in marketing within the aviation industry. Amy credits much of this discovery to the mentorship and guidance of Mr. Ahmed (Director, Operations) and Mr. Nazim (Managing Director), the founders of Skytours, whose early support and belief in her potential opened the door to the aviation industry.

Amy returned to Skytours in 2022 with a broader perspective and a clear focus. She believes that a company’s success is deeply rooted in its people and values an inclusive culture where strong teams thrive on mutual respect and support. Collaboration and accountability across all levels are principles she holds in high regard.

Amy is currently pursuing CIM (The Chartered Institute of Marketing) Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Marketing and, outside of work, enjoys running and listening to music to recharge and unwind.
