How do I charter an Air Ambulance flight?
Once the initial request is received, we will assign one of our Charter Experts to you. The charter expert will send the quotation between 2 - 3 hours of the initial request. Upon receiving the quotation confirmation from you, we will initiate the Air Ambulance and acquire all necessary permits. Aircraft will be able to pick-up the patient within 24-48 hours depending on airports restrictions.
What are the documents required to arrange an Air Ambulance?
Patient's medical notes.
Travel documents such as passports & visas.
How much does an Air Ambulance cost?
The cost depends on many factors, such as; the flight route / destination, the condition of the patient and how much care they require, the type of aircraft we use, the availability of the aircraft, and how quickly you’d like the flight to take place.
Can a relative accompany the patient on an Air Ambulance?
On almost every air ambulance, at least one relative can accompany the patient. Depending on the type of aircraft and the patient’s status, we can sometimes accommodate more companions of the patient and their luggage.
What are the aircraft types available as Air Ambulance?
Challenger 650, Cessna Citation X, Learjet 35, Learjet 45, and Gulfstream 550, Hawker 800XP, King Air 350.
Can a patient take a wheelchair onboard?
This depends on the size of the aircraft and the size of the wheelchair. Small, foldable wheelchairs will not be an issue, but they have to be registered beforehand. Larger electronic or battery-powered wheelchairs can, in most cases, only be transported on board large ambulance planes, due to their size.
What medical equipment is available onboard the air ambulance?
Oxygen at least 5,000 litre and stretcher and/or LIFE PORT Medical Equipment. Other equipment can be arranged upon request and patient status.
How many medical staff will be onboard the Air Ambulance?
1 Flight Doctor + 1 Flight Nurse will be onboard the aircraft who will be briefed on the condition of the patient prior to their arrival to Maldives.
Who will bring the patient to the airport?
We offer all our patients a bed-to-bed service. We will coordinate with the hospitals and arrange for an ambulance to bring the patient from the hospital to the plane, then from the airport to the hospital of your choice. You can also arrange ground transport yourself – we would be happy to support you.
